We like to think that we’re all pretty well travelled here at Yettio. Between us travelled the length of most continents. But there’s one women who’s on a mission to visit EVERY country on earth, making her the first female to do so.

If that’s no enough, the 27-year-old from Connecticut is visiting them all in under a year and a half. Cassandra de Pecol has already visited 181 countries since July 2015 and plans to visit the remaining 15 within the next 40 days. After doing so, she will become the first documented female, youngest American and fastest traveller to visit all 196 countries.

This journey, called Expedition196, is not just about visiting every country. She travelling as an Ambassador for Peace on behalf of the International Institute for Peace Through Tourism. While we can’t all visit as many countries as Cassandra, we can follow her amazing journey on her Instagram page.

This is my “mad man” pre-planning of #Expedition196 over a year ago. Original map and all! I just thought that you all might be interested to know the stats since the start of the Expedition. In the past 6⃣4⃣ days, I’ve traveled to 2⃣5⃣ countries and flown 3⃣2⃣ times. That’s an average of 2⃣.5⃣ days in each country. While that seems like an extremely short amount of time to be in each country, I’ve been in some countries longer than I’ve been in others. For instance, I was in New Zealand for 5 days but visited both the North and South Island, but was in Qatar for only 1 full day on a layover (will be going back in the spring). How am I feeling? In one word, exhausted. Also stressed. But I’m optimistic for the continued journey and outcome of the Expedition. I’m not kidding when I say that I’m overwhelmed with work in organizing all of the meetings with the students and leaders, but overwhelmed in a good way! 😊 I’ve made great time on this trip so far in regards to the Guinness World Record attempt. I planned this trip while giving myself 6 months leeway time just in case situations arise. So right now, I’m on a 7 day work break where I’m re-organizing everything and getting ready for the next 3 months until Christmas. Europe has the most Skal chapter presence, so organizing the meetings has been very taxing on my end, which is why I need a week to ensure everything is properly and professionally organized. If I seem a bit absent in the next week, it’s because I’ve got my head buried in emails. Thanks for your patience in advance! ✈️🌎 • • • #CarpeDiem

After a 1 hour and 15 minute fast paced uphill trek, I arrived at Paro Taktsang. The pilgrimage was like something out of Avatar, a dream to trek, through low hanging clouds with a harrowing drop at any given moment on either side. Prayer flags swayed through the pines, prayer wheels spinning in the breeze, and tsa-tsas (ashes of the dead) wedged between crevices of stone. Passing over a bridge and waterfall and up the last flight of stairs, I entered one of the chambers where I was completely alone. Tip-toeing past the glowing butter candles and sacred relics, I kneeled on a rug, cracked open an aged window and rested my head on the windowsill to reflect and admire the massive 2,000ft plunge into the vast Himalayan valley below, as clouds swiftly passed. Without my phone or camera equipment, I was able to consciously enjoy this moment in peace. 🏔 • • • #expedition196 #everycountryintheworld
