This is the inspiring story of Karol and Aleksandra, a Polish couple who bought a beat up campervan and went off to explore the world.
It started six years ago. With little money to their name but an itch to see the world they bought an old 1989 VW T3 Campervan for $600, painted it up and filled it with tents, supplies and food before heading off into the unknown.
Since the journey began they have driven more than 150,000 kilometres, visiting more than 50 countries on 5 continents. Using the van and tents as home, they’ve never had to pay for accommodation and save money by cooking themselves. It provides everything they need – an electric shower, comfortable bed, a kitchenette and plug sockets.
The journey hasn’t been without its hitches. The van’s almost 30 so doesn’t always cope well with overland adventures. But in the spirit of budget travel they’ve learned to fix her up themselves.
