To say it straight, Utah is pretty much a recreational paradise. Located on the western side of the United States, Utah touts four distinct seasons and has some of the best hiking, star gazing, and skiing on earth. It is home to 5 national parks and enormous mountain ranges just minutes away from downtown Salt Lake City.
One of those canyons, just 30 minutes from the city, is Little Cottonwood Canyon, home to Snowbird Resort. Snowbird also hosts one of Utah’s premiere peaks, Hidden Peak. You can ride a tram from the base of the resort to the top in less than 10 minutes.
People enjoy the views, skiing in the winter, and hiking and mountain biking in the summer. There’s even a restaurant at the top (about 11,000 feet up the mountain) where you can experience some fine dining and rest for the weary.
