In February Ben Davis embarked on an epic journey – to walk 3,100 miles across the US from Los Angeles to Boston. The motivation? Adventure.
Davis walked for 7-9 hours every day, resting for just a few hours in the evenings. Interestingly, the 3,100-mile route was planned by plugging in the two cities into the walking-directions feature of Google Maps which created a route which avoided interstates.
During the walk, Davis went through 5 pairs of shoes and consumed between 1-3 gallons of water every day depending on the heart and humidity, which changes dramatically as you cross the huge landmass.

The trip cost Davis $6,000, surprisingly little for 146 days on the road. To keep the cost as low as possible, he camped and spent many nights at the homes of generous folks along the way.
Davis is now writing a book about his adventure. Find out more details about his experience and the release date over on his website.
