This live-line worker’s job is to fix half million voltage power lines. While they’re still on. But to reach them he must first be transported via helicopter.
“I don’t give two hoots and a holler about flying inside a helicopter. Put me outside. That’s where I want to be. On a magic carpet” says the linesman as the helicopter sweeps past a particular scenic piece of countryside.
To stop him being burnt to a crisp, the linesman wears a Faraday suit, clothing made from metal mesh. As long as he or the helicopter doesn’t touch the ground the worker can have over a half million volts passing over his body without being hurt. All the manoeuvres are carefully choreographed to ensure complete safety.

Interestingly at the end of the video he says, “There’s only three things I’ve ever been afraid of. Electricity, heights and women…..and I’m married too”
Looks like he conquered all three of those fears.
