Nestled within the picturesque environs of Haitang Bay, Wuzhizhou Island is situated approximately 20 miles northeast of Sanya itself. Due to its remote location, you might be forgiven for thinking that the island is slightly off the beaten track for tourism, but its pristine white beaches, unbelievably clear waters and abundance of vibrant sea life make it a popular destination all year round with tourists from China and abroad.
The singular diving and snorkelling area becomes incredibly popular as a result, so those looking to explore beneath the waves should visit during off-season and preferably early in the morning (staying overnight on the island facilitates getting an early start).
Aside from making friends with the multitude of fish, crustaceans and other exotic creatures under the sea, there are also many other activities to try your hand at, including jetskiing, parachuting and banana boating.
