The property is located on 140 acres of land just outside Nairobi and the 80 year old manor house itself has long been one of the city’s most iconic buildings.
Since being transformed into a boutique hotel in 1984, guests have been enjoying the once-in-a-lifetime experience of being up close and personal with the unusual other residents.
These gentle giants are in fact Rothschild’s giraffes, one of the most endangered sub species, and between 8 and 15 of them live here at any one time.
Every morning and evening the giraffes slowly emerge from the woodlands and amble across the lawns in search of snacks.
The hotel is pretty exclusive, with a bed in one of the 10 rooms costing US $500 per person for full board and drinks.
Previous guests have included Mick Jagger, Ewan McGregor, Brooke Shields and Richard Branson.
