Elena Mikhailovna (who goes by “Baba Lena”) is an inspiring 89-year-old woman from Russia who has traveled over 3,000 miles (4,828 km) by herself to experience the beauty of Vietnam.

Not only has she made this extremely long journey, but she started traveling the world at age 83—which means she’s been exploring the world around her for the last 6 years.

And now, her photos are inspiring all of us.

They’re a great reminder that you’re never too old to start seeing the world.

Baba Lena has so far traveled to Poland and Vietnam once, Germany twice, and the Czech Republic five times. She saves her pension, sells flowers, and receives help from family so she can make the trips.

You know what they say: the best time to start traveling is in your twenties. But the second best time is now.
