Dubai walls is a new project in the city which looks to introduce street art to the Middle East. Once considered vandalism, graffiti is quickly becoming a recognised art movement, spurred on by the phenomenon of Banksy and other leading street artists.
16 of the world’s greatest street artists, selected from every corner of the globe, were invited to the city to help kick off the initiative and help visitors and residents discover the art form.
A collection of walls in public spaces were painted up by artists including Aito, Blek Le Rat, Beau Stanton and The London Police. This is the first wave of artists, with more being encouraged to follow shortly. To find out more about #DubaiWalls and the artists involved, see dubaiwalls.com.
